GURUGRAM: A 35-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly stabbing to death his brother-in-law over an argument in Gurugram’s Sukhrali village on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Sonu who worked as a labourer in the city. The accused
Rajeev also worked as a labourer.

Pawan, told police that the two had quarrelled over some household chores.
“I had come from Chandigarh to meet my brother. On Tuesday afternoon, I was resting in his room when he came to change his shirt and told me that he had an argument with Rajeev. While he was sharing the incident with me, Rajeev barged into the room with a sharp-edged knife and stabbed my brother in the chest several times. Before I could stop him, he fled from the stop,” said Pawan who also works as a labourer in Chandigarh.
Pawan rushed his brother to a nearby hospital but he was declared dead on arrival.
Based on the complaint, an FIR was registered against Rajeev under IPC Section 302 (murder) at Sector 17/18 police station. Police teams were formed and the accused was nabbed from Katariya Chowk.
During questioning, Rajeev told police that the two had quarrelled in the past as well over some other issue and he had since held grudges against his brother-in-law. “We have also recovered the knife used in the crime. Rajeev will be produced in a district court on Thursday,” said a police officer.
